Tour of Cambodia
(11 days/1500 km)
The word is
out - Cambodia has emerged from decades of war and isolation a is well and truly
back on the southeast Asian travel map. Food is decent, hotels are comfortable,
people are nice and scenery and historic monuments unbelievable. The
successor-state of the mighty Khmer Empire, which ruled much of what is now
Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, Cambodia boasts a rich culture, a weathered
French-era capital Pnom Penh and impressive natural scenery of Cardamom
mountains. You will not be only riding, you will be exploring "Tomb raider"
style of ruins, swim under the waterfalls and in the South China Sea and ride a
bicycle around Angkor Wat temples. Two days in the seaside resort on Eastern
seaboard of Thailand, a day and a half in Angkor, a day in Pnom Penh - Killing
Fields, three days exploring the North West and Central Cambodia, two days in
the South of the country, a day along Thailand's SE coast and finally a day and
half in Bangkok for shopping.
