Day Four - Tour of the South |
|
From
Cha Am to Chumpon (ride) |
|
|
On our ride South we shall see Hua Hin, a popular holiday resort
first. Shortly
after we shall leave the main road and tour through Khao Sam Roi
Yod (mountain range with 300 peaks) national park. The wooded
mountains make it a site of outstanding natural beauty, but
it is the freshwater marsh and coastal habitats, that gives
the park ecological significance. It offers fine sandy
beaches, spectacular caves, superb mountain viewpoints,
offshore islands, forest trails, boat excursions, and
estuarine and mangrove habitats, all within a relatively
small area.
We
shall take a boat trip around mangroves to see protected
wildlife - there are around 300 species of birds recorded seen
in the park. some of them very rare, monitor lizards and two
legged fish. For our sea front lunch we shall stop at Prachuap
Khiri Khan. Every place where we stop on this tour has
good seafood restaurants, where only fresh fish is served.
For those who prefer something else, Southern Thai curries
are worth trying. Accommodation with
breakfast in Chumpon. |
