Day Eight - Tour of the South |
|
Krabi (day off / laundry/ boat tour) |
|
|
Today we can spend a day at the sea. We shall hire a boat
on Krabi river. We shall make our way to the first stop, Tup
Island. Tup Island is connected to two other islands by a
Y-shaped sand bar. It is a good location for snorkelling but the
currents are a little too strong to enjoy the water completely.
It is hardly 'swept-off-to-sea' conditions, but the action of
the water is stirring up the silt.
After a swim at Tup Island, we shall continue towards 'Chicken
Island'. There's no question how this particular rock got its
name. It looks like a chicken. After a brief pass-by of the
island for photo-taking purposes, we shall head for our second
snorkelling or swimming opportunity, to Poda Island. Here the
water is much calmer, and the fish are plentiful. The monkeys at
Poda Island could tell when lunch time had arrived - they come
the same time as the tourists
Our last stop will be at Relais beach to
explore sea caves. Alternatively you
can rest on the beach or take a hydrofoil boat to Phi Phi
islands. |
